During 2025 we helped Whatsapp with the creation of 40 videos for their in-App messaging.

Thanks to Hueso and 1stAveMachine we had the chance to make this happen <3

Together with WhatsApp internal teams we developed a pack of 40 videos for their in-app messaging

the goal was to create thumb-stopping animations

that convey meaning and explain in-app functions

Live action and illustration blending together

for an immersive experience building brand trust and meaningful connection

and repeated the process for over a year

Our role was from coming up with creative concepts and metaphors to deliver the final animation product.

in this 30 sec there’s almost all of our process BUT let’s get a bit more in depth

We explored withing brand boundaries and sometimes beyond

merging WhatsApp illustration system with new approaches

celebrating WhatsApp UI and Design

and always keeping it warm and human

Want to know more about the process?

First: we start laying out (a lot of) ideas and concepts on paper

This helps building a creative dialogue with client, listening to their needs and implementing it in creative ways.

Second: we keep exploring and start linking selected ideas to the functional story

We investigate Characters, searching for warmth and real feelings

every element and action are meant to visually represent function and messages

Then - with some helpful concepts and ideas - we get to storyboarding

here things get gradually more refined, ideas are implemented in a storyline and tested over and over

Storyboarding is where the most interesting part happens: the story unravels and tailoring it to clients need is what we’re here for

Second step is to start refining stories addinng some love on design

Character adjustments, color testing and final design ready for feedback

Till the idea becomes the final animation product
